Small-scale farmers, local markets and public buying for food security and rural development in Bolivia

The Rural Territorial Development with Cultural Identity (RTD-CI) Regional Program of RIMISP - Latin American Center for Rural Development, within the framework of the Bolivian Movement for Gastronomic Integration (MIGA), is running from September 2013 Territorial Laboratories (LABTERS) having as main objective the Regional Strengthening of MIGA, mobilizing all the actors involved in gastronomy, agrifood production and tourism sector, seeking the creation of partnerships between the public and private sector around the MIGA Principles.

Among the duties related to the organization and implementation of the LABTERs, performed as part of my internship, I had the opportunity to know and undertsand the experiences linked to gastronomy and the production and valorization of the Regional Food Heritage, reflecting on the potentials food production and cuisine have as engine of suatinable and inlcusive development.
