    Turin – The course “Promoting Rural Development: sustainable tourism and short food supply chains” took place from the 27th until the 31st of march in Turin, Italy. The activity has been organized by the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization in partnership with the Latinamerican Center for Rural Development (Rimisp) and Slow Food. The main purpose of the course was the creation of a space of mutual knowledge exchange about short food supply chains and sustainable tourism concepts and practices analyizing the challenges and opportunities of their articulation and interaction. 34 participants coming from 14 different countries of Latin America and Africa joined the activity sharing their good practices and knowledge.

    Revirtiendo la tendencia de décadas, hoy Colombia muestra un escenario propicio para el desarrollo de procesos que estimulen la participación e inclusión social ciudadana, el ejercicio de los derechos y el empoderamiento de poblaciones históricamente discriminadas, excluidas y víctimas de conflictos y violencia. En este marco hay un rol importante que pueden jugar las identidades, la biodiversidad y el patrimonio cultural territoriales. Colombia es un país de paradojas. Se caracteriza por un elevado nivel de biodiversidad y una enorme riqueza cultural. Ha sido reconocido como uno de los cinco países con mayor diversidad biológica a nivel internacional, y es uno de los 17 países mega diversos en el mundo. No obstante, siguen manifestándose elevados índices de pobreza y desigualdad. La pobreza multidimensional en Colombia[1] ha ido decreciendo desde el 2010 pasando de tener 13´719.000 de personas en condición de pobreza multidimensional en 2010 a 8´586.000 en 2016 (DANE, 2017).     Lima - The new Platform member Cooking, Identity and Territory - UGAZ Consultores started a collaboration since October 2014 with the Peruvian Ministry of Production within the context and the plan of activities of the Let's Eat Fish Food National Program.
