    Luang Prabang - The course “Promoting Rural Development: sustainable tourism and short food supply chains” took place from the 22nd until the 26th of may for the first time in Asia, in the city of Luang Prabang in Laos. The training course has been organized by the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization (ITC-ILO), the ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, the ILO Office in Vientiane and Rimisp - Latinamerican Center for Rural Development (Rimisp) through the Territorial Development with Cultural Identity Program (TD-CI).     The Rural Territorial Development with Cultural Identity Program (RTD-CI) of the Latin American Center for Rural Development (RIMISP) has signed an inter-institutional contract with the Swisscontact Foundation within the Rural Markets Project, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (COSUDE). The RTD-CI Program will implement the Pilot Intervention of Rural Territorial Development in the Cinti Valley (RTD-Cinti), located in the Southern valleys of Bolivia. The contract is valid until november 2017. The main purpose is to facilitate processes of territorial development that result in systemic changes which lead to income increase of an important number of productive families, service providers, small scale family businesses.

    The Chilean Institute for Agricultural Development (INDAP) and the Rural Territorial Development with Cultural Identity Program (RTD-CI) jointly organized a mission lasting from Monday, March 16th, until Friday March 20th. The mission sees the participation of the Deputy National Director of INDAP, Ricardo Vial, his Principal Adviser Héctor Bravo, the RTD-CI Program Coordinator, Claudia Ranaboldo and the EATALY agronomist Valter Valle. The main objectives are: i) the analysis of aspects related to the support strategy for family agriculture farming commercialization, designed by INDAP; ii) the creation of basis for a future cooperation, especially among the three entities mainly involved: INDAP, RTD-CI Program and EATALY; iii) the visit and knowledge of innovative business models related to the sustainable commercialization and distribution of agri-food products.

    Lima - The new Platform member Cooking, Identity and Territory - UGAZ Consultores started a collaboration since October 2014 with the Peruvian Ministry of Production within the context and the plan of activities of the Let's Eat Fish Food National Program. The results of the last year activities, focused on a caracterization of some Regional Food Heritages along the Country and a national contest engaging the Peoples' Shared Kitchens (Comedores Populares) and their cooking mothers' traditional recipes based on fish food, have been published in the book "Fish, Stories and Recipes of Peru: tales from the Peoples' Shared Kitchen" with 20 recipes just presented last week by the Minister of Production Piero Ghezzi and the famous chef Gastón Acurio. At the beginning of 2015 the Rural Territorial Development with Cultural Identity Program of RIMISP joined the alliance starting a project involving all the 7 Departments of the country involved in the Let's Eat Food Program and the Lima metropolitan area.
